Construction Loan Servicing Manager (CRE - Hospitality)
Own draw administration for a portfolio of hospitality construction loans and help build the servicing workflows, controls, and reporting behind a modern construction lending platform.
About the role
We are seeking a Construction Loan Servicing Manager. This role is designed for someone who wants to take ownership of and help build a modern construction loan servicing platform. Alongside managing day-to-day draw administration, you will help establish the servicing workflows, controls, reporting standards, and operational infrastructure the platform needs as it scales.
The ideal candidate pairs strong technical servicing knowledge with the ability to solve problems, communicate with stakeholders, and operate independently in a fast-moving environment. We are looking for someone highly detail-oriented, organized, and proactive who moves beyond processing and takes ownership of issues as they arise. You will be central to ensuring draws are funded accurately and on time, in accordance with loan documents, budgets, and credit approvals.
This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role with direct exposure to real estate development, structured finance, and active portfolio management. Over time it is expected to grow into a leadership position overseeing the construction servicing function. Hours are an EST shift, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key responsibilities
Construction loan servicing and portfolio management
- Own the end-to-end draw process for a portfolio of hospitality construction loans, including pay applications, change orders, inspection reports, lien waivers, title bringdowns, and budget versus actual tracking.
- Serve as the primary point of coordination between borrowers, general contractors, inspectors, title companies, and capital partners including PACE lenders.
- Resolve issues proactively, from budget shortfalls and reallocations to lien or title concerns, inspection discrepancies, incomplete documentation, and delays that threaten funding timelines.
- Monitor interest reserves, contingency usage, loan-to-cost compliance, and construction progress against schedule.
- Ensure funding decisions stay consistent with loan documents, credit approvals, and internal risk management standards.
- Support borrower and project calls across the construction lifecycle to align on timelines, funding expectations, and execution.
- Assist with payoff calculations and demands, partial releases, loan modifications and extensions, release and satisfaction documentation, and construction loan closings and refinance coordination.
- Maintain portfolio health through insurance and tax tracking, covenant and tickler management, exception follow-up, and borrower reporting.
Operational leadership and platform development
- Develop and refine servicing workflows, controls, and operational procedures.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements across draw administration, reporting, and borrower communication.
- Build scalable processes for construction servicing and portfolio management as the platform grows.
- Coordinate with internal technology teams on servicing platform enhancements and automation initiatives.
- Support the development of portfolio reporting and servicing analytics for management and capital partners.
- Help onboard and train future servicing personnel as the team expands.
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in construction lending, loan servicing, or project finance.
- Strong command of construction budgets and draw processes, loan structures including LTC, LTV, and interest reserves, and servicing controls, exceptions, and escalation.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and solve problems in real time rather than only processing transactions.
- High attention to detail, with the judgment to connect construction activity to loan risk.
- Strong communication skills, working directly with borrowers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Experience operating independently with limited oversight in a fast-paced lending environment, including escalating risk-related issues appropriately.
- Experience managing borrower relationships and coordinating with external vendors and consultants.
- Advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Experience with hospitality or commercial real estate is a plus.
- Prior experience helping build or improve operational processes is strongly preferred.
